Testimonials "I've noticed a definite increase in strength and fitness since beginning the classes and have dropped a dress size. Two classes a week makes my metabolism race along and I can pretty much eat with abandon without worrying about overindulging. It's also a handy way of catching up with friends I otherwise might not see during the week. Atmosphere is great and it's always a good laugh - I'm always glad I dragged myself along no matter how tired I am beforehand. Perfect start to the week after a boozy weekend. Seriously, I love Toned & Fit!!!" "This is the first time in 15 years that I have felt this fit and healthy. My energy levels are so much higher and I will be continuing the classes and hopefully start running." "I am really enjoying the classes, and joined just to stay fit and not put on piles of weight over the summer, however, I have dropped a dress size, which was a bonus. I now feel very fit, healthy, confident, and I have really enjoyed meeting all the people at the classes. Its hard work, but its great fun too." "Only started these classes a few weeks ago, and I cannot get over how much my fitness level has improved!" "The program is the first keep fit programme I have stayed with for more the than 4 weeks, I hated going to the gym I found it boring and I lost interest after 10 minutes, here you are encouraged, teased and meet up with a great bunch of people. I have been training since June 09 and with the Clean 9 programme and training 2 nights a week I have lost over a stone in weight and feel great, I have dropped a dress size and am on the way to another!" "finally found an enjoyable way to exercise!" |

TonedFit.com is delighted to announce their partnership with Barretstown. We'll be running some fun events in order to raise much needed funds in the near future so check back to see how you can be involved. It would be great if you kept us in mind when doing fundraising events. Thanks :-)
Barretstown offers unique and powerful programmes of therapeutic recreation in a holistic way, to the whole family.
Paul Newman’s vision for Barretstown was for a place where sick children could be normal and enjoy some serious fun. He founded us in 1994 and that is now a reality for children and families from 22 European countries.
Advancements in modern medicine have improved the effectiveness of cancer treatments and the rates of cure for childhood cancer continue to improve. More Irish children are surviving than ever before. We run camps for children (aged 7+), teenagers, brothers and sisters, whole families and bereaved families. Campers take part in a medically endorsed programme of Therapeutic Recreation- it builds self esteem, confidence, courage and inner strength to help them deal with the emotional affects of their illnesses. Whilst on site they take part in many fun and exciting challenges- horse-riding, fishing, canoeing, archery, outdoor adventure, drama, music, arts & crafts, photography, nature, creative writing, cookery and games galore. We have special days, crazy and lazy times and above all, lots of time to reflect and support each child as they spend 10 days having a magical, life changing experience with us.

Here’s what a parent told us recently:- “Before my son came to Barretstown he was very low and depressed, which is pretty much expected after all his treatment. Since being with you he has cheered up no end. There is no more sadness and tears. Full of smiles and chat about all the wonderful things he had done with all the gang. Horse-riding was his biggest fear but he conquered that and it’s all down to the wonderful work you do.” Parent, UK |
